Caring for your piece
Treated well, a 3DLuxeLab piece is meant to last. A few simple habits keep it looking gallery-fresh.

Everyday handling
Handle finished pieces by their base or sturdiest section rather than fine details. Many of our works are hand-painted or gilded; clean hands (or cotton gloves for high-gloss and metallic finishes) keep oils and fingerprints off the surface.
Cleaning
- Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth.
- For deeper cleaning, use a barely-damp cloth and let the piece air-dry.
- Avoid harsh solvents, alcohol, abrasive cleaners, and scrubbing — they can dull finishes and clouded translucent lithophanes.
Light & heat
Keep pieces out of direct, prolonged sunlight and away from heat sources (sunny windowsills, radiators, the top of electronics). Printed materials can soften or warp at high temperatures and some pigments fade in strong UV. A shaded shelf or cabinet is ideal.
Devotional lanterns
- Light your lantern with the included battery LED votive only — never an open flame. A real candle's heat can damage the lithophane.
- Replace the votive battery as needed; remove it if storing the piece long-term.
- Wipe panels gently; their fine relief is what creates the glow, so treat it kindly.
Display & storage
Display on a stable, level surface away from edges and curious pets. If you need to store a piece, wrap it in acid-free tissue or soft cloth and keep it somewhere cool and dry.
